Somewhere Over the …..Haboob

There is something about getting to August that is encouraging….we are over half way through summer!!!!! Hurrah! Sure we’ll still have hot days, but there are fewer ahead than what has past…ha. Just a couple reminders:

1. All retreat exchange blocks are DUE 8/3/10. Failure to turn them in??? They won’t make it into the quilt.

2. Crazy Quilt Blocks due back on 8/17.

3. Woodmark Appreciation Day: 8/5/10. Meet there at 9:30. If you need directions, check with Sandy. (We’ll go to lunch afterwards.)

4. Be sure to say “hi” to Sue Mahon.

We’re getting close with the Mystery Quilt; come and get next clue on Tuesday and enjoy all the harvest of RWYS Comfort Quilts and Angel Wraps.

KEEPING COOL

We’ll be thinking COOL once again as we start Christmas preparation. During these challenging economic times, homemade gifts are always welcome and in many ways reflect your thought and care far more than those quickie trips to the store to purchase gift cards. Homemade gifts include anything from cookies, candy, jars of premix, potholders, table runners, placemats, etc., etc., etc.
This program depends on YOU.
Please bring gift ideas to share…in the form of finished items (either that you made or received),patterns, recipes, or things you want to make. I know we can depend on Joy Books and Joy Olcott to come up with nifty ideas. We’ll do another pattern, recipe swap as we did last year.

REMEMBER YOUR PARTICIPATION IS KEY – YOU ARE THE PROGRAM

BLOG CANDY DRAWING IS ON 7/19…IF YOU WANT TO WIN A $40.00 PRIZE…..YOU NEED

TO GO ON THE BLOG….AND LEAVE A COMMENT. (You will be required to get a gmail account, but it is free and you need only use it when you log on to the blog…so don’t be afraid to sign up. Once you’re on….you’re on.)
If your are reading this.. you are here! so leave a comment!

Friendly Frolic

Announcing our first pajama party … literally… where your jammies, come and sew/quilt – fellowship – play games – win prizes – eat food – just sit and talk – whatever you want to do. We’ll start at 6:00 p.m. and go as long as there are at least 2 people left standing. Save Friday, 7/23 for a night of “Friendly Frolic” – just an old-fashioned “girls night out.” There will be special prizes for those who bring prospective RWYS gals (future RWYS guys not invited – too much estrogen). This is a “thank you” event for all our dedication and hard work. You are a special group of gals. Thank you, Sandy.

As to the meeting…we have a new Mystery Clue, Sew’nTell, Discount Cards, possibly a BOM (Erika’s been out of town). You just never know what we’ll end up doing. Ha. See you on 7/6.

DON’T FORGET: New Blog Candy is up! Don’t forget to make comment on blog so you can have a chance to win. Drawing will be 7/19
