HOMESTEAD EXPERIENCE

The Homestead Experience Retreat at the historic COD Ranch is now open for friends and family of RWYS members. Currently we have 17 openings for #1 Retreat and 1 opening for #2 Retreat (weekend). We have 52 sewing spaces filled (which was our minimum) and can take up to 18 more.... so now's the time to get on the books. We have lots of fun things planned including a weiner roast under the stars. How long has it been since you made SMORES....yummy? Of course, there will be loads of sewing time since you can check in at 8:00 a.m. almost an additional 8 hours. Looking forward to YOU being there.

Meeting Notice for April 20,2010 - Please Join Us!

Early Birds: 3:00 -3:30 Fellowship; 3:30 Meeting, GO Block, BOM, Calculator Class
Evening Song Birds: 6:30 - 7:00 Fellowship; 7:00 Meeting, GO Block, BOM Calculator Class
DOING THE MATH!
How many HST can you get from 1-3/8 yards of fabric? Do you care? Or, do you only work on those quilts where everything is already calculated for you? Maybe, you want to make it bigger or smaller than the instructions...so, how much fabric should you buy? How about calculating your actual cost of fabric? (Most of us don't want to know!) Or maybe, someone gave you an Australian quilt book and it is all calculated in metric...wouldn't you love to know how to change it to our standard measurements? Bring your quilt calculators as we work through some of these issues. Don't have one? Come anyway and share with someone who does. You might want to use a 40% off coupon and get one after class. I know Cindy Prevost has been waiting for this class. She has brought her calculator for several meetings.
Two other things: Blessings Day is THIS Saturday, April 17,2010 at 9:00am. We have loads to do! Also, have you visited our blog? (obviously, if you are reading this you have(inserted by Erika)) If not please do and sign up to follow the blog. There are some special things coming up for "RWYS Bloggers". Just put this address in your browser and you soon be there. Then be sure to bookmark it as a favorite which will make it easier to come and visit.

Mini Retreat Information

YOU MAY BE THERE TO SET UP AT 8:30 AM

Here is the PRE-Mini Retreat cutting instructions.

This particular project does require a lot of sewing, so it is essential that you precut and LABEL your cut tote pieces prior to coming to class. Also, while you ar given cutting measurements for pockets, you may desire to change pockets to fit your needs. For example, you might want a slightly larger or smaller pocket for a specific notion or favorite ruler.
